Electric double layer capacitance: it is caused by the charge confrontation formed by the directional placement of electrons or ions at the electrode/solution interface. For an electrode/solution system, a double electric layer will be formed on the interface between the electron conducting electrode and the ion conducting electrolyte solution. When an electric field is applied to the two electrodes, the anions and cations in the solution migrate to the positive and negative electrodes respectively, forming a double electric layer on the surface of the electrodes; After the electric field is revoked, the positive and negative charges on the electrode and the opposite charge ions in the solution attract each other to make the electric double layer stable, and a relatively stable potential difference occurs between the positive and negative electrodes. At this time, for an electrode, the opposite ionic charge of the same amount as the charge on the electrode will occur within a certain interval (loose layer), making it electrically neutral; When the two poles of the super capacitor are connected with the external circuit, the charge on the electrode will migrate and the current will break out in the external circuit. Farad capacitor : The theoretical model was first proposed by Conway, which is that on the two-dimensional or quasi two-dimensional space of the surface and near surface of the electrode or in the body phase, the electroactive substance undergoes underpotential deposition, and the highly reversible chemical absorption and desorption agree with the oxidation recovery reaction, and the capacitance related to the electrode charging potential occurs. For Faraday quasi capacitor, the process of charge storage not only includes the storage on the double electric layer, but also includes the oxidation recovery reaction of electrolyte ions and electrode active substances. When the ions in the electrolyte (such as H+, OH -, K+or Li+) diffuse from the solution to the electrode/solution interface under the effect of an external electric field, they will enter the body phase of the active oxide on the surface of the electrode through the oxidation recovery reaction on the interface, so that a large number of charges are stored in the electrode. During discharge, these ions entering the oxide will return to the electrolyte from the beginning through the reverse reaction of the above oxidation recovery reaction, and the stored charges will be released through the external circuit, which is the charge discharge mechanism of Faraday quasi capacitor.
